Lewis Hamilton has insisted that it's business as usual at Mercedes following the problems that the team encountered over the course of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend which saw Nico Rosberg make a mistake in qualifying which meant that he started on pole position instead of Lewis Hamilton who had been on course to take pole. Rosberg went on to claim his second win of the season while Hamilton finished in second place.
Speaking ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend, Hamilton said:
'There's not really much more to say, I said it in the message. We spoke after the race and just like friends we have our ups and downs and we have known each other for a long, long time. It's done and dusted now and we look forward to working together to try and help this team win the constructors' championship.'
The 2008 world champion, who has taken four victories in a row this season went on to say:
'There's no difference. Nico and I spoke and then we individually spoke with the team and nothing has really changed. The team has done a great job in supporting us in the way it's run with Paddy [Lowe] and Toto [Wolff] - their support has been great. It's now full steam ahead and we had dinner with the team yesterday and things have never been better. We are just going from strength to strength.'
Hamilton's comments come after team boss Toto Wolff said earlier this week that he would not hesitate to impose team orders on his driver's if they were to collide with one another at any stage this season. Mercedes Non Executive chairman Niki Lauda also revealed this week that some times the Brackley based outfit have found it difficult to manage two drivers who are at the top of their game.
The race this weekend will give the Silver Arrows a chance to extend their lead in the championship as no matter what happens in race on Sunday the team will leave Montreal leading the Constructors champioship while one of their driver's will leave leading the driver's championship.
