The Williams Martini Racing Team have had their most successful season in many years in 2014 aftr recording nine podium finishes and one pole position. The Grove based outfit finished in third place in the Constructors championship having scored 320 points.
At the start of the season, deputy team principal Claire Williams set the outfit the target of scoring points in every race of the season and that is exactly what happened this year. The team ended the year with a double podium with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas finishing the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last weekend.
Despite the fantastic season for the team Claire Williams has stated that the outfit have plenty of work to do ahead of next season if they hope to close the gap to the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.
Williams is hoping that the team can challenge for race wins next season having been unable any victories this season despite coming close on several occasions this season. Massa finished the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix just 2.5s behind race winner and overall championship winner Lewis Hamilton.
Williams concluded by saying that she would like to see the team win Grand Prix on merit and not because they have been lucky but due to having a competitive advantage over the Silver Arrows.
