Reports from French TV station Canal + are suggesting that Spanish Red Bull junior driver Carlos Sainz Jr, the son of  former World Rally Champion and Dakar Rally driver Carlos Sainz is set to replace Jean Eric Vergne as Max Verstappen's team mate at Toro Rosso next season.

The 20 year old will drive for the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team during the two day end of season test at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi next week as a reward for winning the Formula Renault 3.5 series championship.

The Spaniard will drive the RB10 on Tuesday before handing over the car to regular race driver Daniel Ricciardo meaning that Daniil Kvyat will have to wait to make his debut for Infiniti Red Bull Racing at the opening Winter test of the 2015 pre-season which is provisionally set to take place in Jerez, Spain from February 1st - 4th.

Jean Eric Vergne has been with Toro Rosso since 2012 and in the three seasons since his Formula One debut the Frenchman has scored 51 points.

He lost out on a seat alongside Sebastian Vettel at Infiniti Red Bull Racing for 2014 as Daniel Ricciardo secured the drive. This season he was overlooked for the Red Bull seat in 2015 after Daniil Kvyat was chosen to replace the Red Bull bound Sebastian Vettel.
