(Jean Michel Le Meur DPPI for Renault Sport F1)
Jean Eric Vegne has taken to his official Twitter page to confirm that he will not be driving for Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2015. The Frenchman who made his debut for the Italian team in 2012 finished the 2014 Formula One season in 13th place in the championship on 22 points. Vergne stated:
'Despite a good season & 22 pts, I'll not drive anymore for Toro Rosso in 2015. Thanks for those years. Let's go for another big challenge'.
Vergne had been considered for the Infiniti Red Bull Racing seat vacated by Mark Webber at the end of last season however the drive alongside Sebastian Vettel went to his Toro Rosso team mate Daniel Ricciardo. The Frenchman was also overlooked when it was announced that Sebastian Vettel was leaving the Milton Keynes based team as Daniil Kvyat will join Daniel Ricciardo at the team next season.
