(Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team)
Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's Executive Director (Business) Toto Wolff has insisted that he sees no reason as to why the team would need to interfere with their driver's battle this weekend as the final race of the Formula One season takes place at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
'We need to give them the best car. They are out there to win the world championship. It's man against man'.
Wolff stated after seeing both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg lead the way on the opening day of track action ahead of Sunday's season finale.
Hamilton goes into Sunday's race knowing he only has to finish ahead of Rosberg to win the championship as the 2008 world champion holds a 17 point advantage over Nico Rosberg. Hamilton has taken one victory in Abu Dhabi coming home in first place in 2011.
Hamilton also lead the race here in 2012 for McLaren before he was forced to retire handing the race win to Kimi Raikkonen in the Lotus.
Nico Rosberg heads into Sunday's race having won last time out in Brazil however his record in Abu Dhabi is a mixed one as in 2009 he finished in ninth place for Williams, in 2010 having moved to Mercedes he finished the race in fourth place. In 2011, the German finished the race 6th place. In 2012 he retired from the race following an accident which saw him hit the HRT of Narain Kartikeyan.
Last season, Rosberg finished the race on the podium in third place behind the two Red Bull's he could do that again this season but would have to rely on Hamilton finishing the race in seventh place or lower.
It is set to be extremely intense and exciting end to the 2014 Formula One season.
