De Silvestro looking for racing return in America

Former Sauber F1 Team affiliated driver Simona De Silvestro has confirmed that she is concentrated on a return to racing after of dream of racing in Formula One came to a halt after she lost her drive with the Swiss based outfit due to contractual issues.

The Swiss driver who has four years of experience racing in the American Indy Car Series and gave that up to pursue her role with the Sauber F1 Team.

She took part in a number of tests for the team and showed great pace but has now decided to seek other racing opportunities as she has not competed in Motorsport for over a year. Speaking to Racer De Silvestro stated:

'We tried this year to my dream of F1, and that dream turned out to be too difficult to achieve for a variety of reasons.'

I spent the year in the factory, training every day, on the simulator, did some F1 testing and was very quick, so I've been busy and improving myself throughout this process.'

De Silvestro has confirmed that she has amicably parted company with her manager Imran Safiulla and is now representing herself as she hopes to put what she has learnt from her year in F1 to good use and would love to compete once again at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Indy 500.

In 2013, she joined the KV Racing Technology team where she drove alongside Tony Kanaan. She is ready for a 'new start' in her career.
