Abu Dhabi extend Formula One contract

(Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team)

It has been an extremely busy day in Formula One as not only was it revealed that Sebastian Vettel will join Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari next season and that Will Stevens will make his Formula One debut with the Caterham F1 Team but it has also been confirmed that the Yas Marina circuit have extended their agreement to host the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Yas Marina circuit on Yas island plays host to this weekend's season finale which counts for double points and where will discover who will be crowned the 2014 Formula One drivers champion with Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg with the pair separated by just 17 points.

The Yas Marina circuit has played host to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since it's inception to the Formula One calendar in 2009 and is a favourite among drivers and teams alike.

The circuit has a unique feature in that the exit to the pit-lane runs under the race track which comes out into turn 2 which poses a challenge for the drivers.

The new agreement has been described as a multi-year contract.
