Teams want proper Pirelli wet tyre test

(Pirelli Motorsport Media)

Formula One teams have asked the Strategy Group to work with Pirelli to plan a proper wet tyre test.in the wake of Jules Bianchi's accident at the Japanese Grand Prix earlier this season.

Pirelli has always stated that in order to run a proper wet weather test they need it to take place on a circuit with a proper sprinkler system.

Teams have also called for all outfits to be permitted to take part in such a test instead of just one or two teams, One of the main stumbling blocks is where would the test take place. One venue that had been suggested was Ferrari's Fiorano test track but it is believed that the teams were against that idea.

It has also been suggested that the Paul Ricard circuit in France could be used however it is unlikely that such a test will not take place as it would require an FIA regulation change that would allow a full wet weather test with current cars.

It is understood that the idea of a full wet weather test will be discussed further when the teams meet following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
