Felipe Nasr has dismissed suggestions that the Sauber F1 Team chose him due to the fact that he brings financial backing with him to the Swiss based team next season in the form Banco Du Brasil. Nasr joins the team next season as he will make his Formula One race debut having previously been Williams Martini Racing's test driver.

The 22 year old has stated that the Sauber F1 Team are not selling their race seats saying the suggestion makes now sense.

Nasr made his Formula One test debut with Williams Martini Racing in February 2014 when he drove the FW36 as the team prepared for the start of the season at the Bahrain International circuit. The Brazilian went on to share the third driver role with Susie Wolff and drove the car in a handful of Free Practice sessions.

Nasr confirmed that discussions with the Sauber F1 Team began during the Summer and that he is very happy that the deal have fallen into place. The Brazilian will have his first outing with the team during the opening Winter test when he gest behind the wheel of the Sauber C34 at the opening test in Jerez in just 65 days.
