Sahara Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg enjoyed an extremely
successful debut in the World Endurance Championship at the 6 Hours of Spa as
the German finished the event in sixth place for Porsche.
The German started the race from third on the grid, however
unfortunately for the Hulk, after just 15 minutes of the race his co-driver
Nick Tandy collided with a back marker as he attempted to lap it. As a result
the Porsche 919 Hybrid lost time as it had to be called in for repairs.
Unfortunately for Hulkenberg he was unable to challenge for
a podium finish following the collision early on in the race however sixth
place on his debut in World Endurance Championship is a great base to start from
ahead of next month’s LeMans 24 Hours which is the next round of the
championship which the German will also compete in.
Hulkenberg’s focus will now switch to preparing for next
weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix where he will be back in action for the Sahara
Force India Formula One Team.
