Lotus technical director Nick Chester believes that the Enstone based team could be the lead Renault powered outfit in 2014. Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso and Caterham have all had problems with their new cars and due to the Renault Energy Recovery System and various other problems.

Red Bull's problems have not solely been issues with Renault they have had a variety of different problems and the Milton Keynes based squad only have four days in which to sort out the problems that they have with the RB10 as there are three weeks until the Australian Grand Prix.

On the final day of testing yesterday Pastor Maldonado clocked up 59 laps and was the fastest of the Renault powered outfits.

When asked about the Bahrain test Chester said 'we certainly haven't gone badly this week in comparison to the other Renault powered teams'.

The Enstone team who missed the first test in Jerez completed 111 laps in Bahrain this week and although the reigning world champions Red Bull completed 2 more laps then Lotus the Milton Keynes based squad continued to suffer issues with the RB10 as for the second time in testing Christian Horner and Adrian Newey headed home early from the test in order to find a solution.
