Grosjean surprised by Boullier departurne from Lotus

Lotus F1 Team driver Romain Grosjean has admitted to being surprised by the sudden departure of team principal Eric Boullier.
 
It was announced last month that Boullier had left the team to take up a new position at McLaren and Grosjean, speaking to infosport+ the Frenchman said 'the departure of Eric was big news to everyone and they did not necessarily expect that'
 
Over the last two year's Boullier led the Enstone based team to fourth place in the Constructors championship.
 
It is not yet known who will replace Boullier at the Lotus F1 Team however former Citroen boss, Olivier Quensel has confirmed that he has received a offer from Lotus CEO Gerard Lopez who is currently acting as the Lotus F1 Team boss.
 
This week is a big week for the Enstone based team as they will run their new car the E22 for the first time in winter testing as the second test gets underway in Bahrain on Wednesday with Romain Grosjean scheduled to completed a full test in the new car that day.
