Caterham's new race driver Sweden's Marcus Ericsson has had an extremely productive day for in Bahrain for the Leafield based team has he has completed 75 lap's in Bahrain which amounts to the 300KM required for him to qualify for the mandatory FIA Super Licence.
All Formula One driver's need the licence in order to be eligible to be compete at Formula One Grand Prix and as a rookie driver for 2014 Ericsson was required to obtain the licence.
Ericsson will partner Kamui Kobayashi at the team this season after the pair replaced Charles Pic who has just joined the Lotus F1 Team as test driver and Giedo Van Der Garde. Caterham, along with Sahara Force India are the only two team's to field all new driver line-up's for the 2014 season.
Ericsson will finish the day with Caterham this afternoon and is expected to complete the Bahrain test for the team when the Bahrain test finishes tomorrow.
The team's will return to Bahrain next week for the final winter test and will be extremely crucial as the team's will then head to Melbourne for the first race of the season.
