Former Formula One driver and double world champion Mika Hakkinen believes that Kimi Raikkonen will be able to beat Fernando Alonso this season.
Raikkonen returns to Ferrari this season for the first time since he was dropped by the team at the end of the 2009 F1 season in favour of Alonso. Following his departure from the team he spent two years away from the sport competing in various other forms of motorsport before being persuaded by Gerard Lopez to return to F1 in 2012 with the Lotus F1 Team.
Hakkinen, who was replaced at McLaren by his countryman in 2002 following his retirement from the sport believes that the new cars being introduced into F1 this season will 'suit Kimi's driving style perfectly'.
Raikkonen was the last driver to win the championship for Ferrari in 2007 and Mika believes that he will succeed against Alonso
The season gets underway in just over a month's time in Melbourne, Australia. Raikkonen won the race last year with Alonso finishing second so it is going to be interesting to see if the Finn can repeat that performance this season. He certainly hit the ground running in the opening test of winter testing as did Alonso and despite a few minor issues with their new car Ferrari along with Williams, Mercedes and McLaren appear to have hit a sweet spot with their new cars.
