New sponsor a major boost for Williams

(Williams F1 Team via Twitter)

The Williams F1 Team announced today that they have signed a multi year sponsorship agreement with insurance company Genworth.

The company's logo will appear on the rear wing end plate of the new FW36. Their logo will also appear on Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas' overalls and will also appear on all team wear. The new deal comes hot on the heel of speculation that the team are set to announce a major new sponsorship deal with Martini.

This is great news for the Grove based outfit as they prepare for not just a new era in Formula One but also as a team as they will have Mercedes engines for this season having made the switch from Renault power over the winter.

The team also has a new driver in Felipe Massa who has replaced Pastor Maldonado who brought his sponsorship money from PDVSA to the Lotus F1 Team. It has been suggested that Brazilian oil giant Petrobas will join the sponsorship portfolio at Williams.

The team have already announced that they will reveal a number of exciting new partners when they reveal their 2014 livery at the first race of the season in Melbourne, Australia next month.
