Magnussen to open Bahrain test for McLaren

Kevin Magnussen will drive the McLaren MP4-29 on the opening two day's of the second winter test in Bahrain. The test gets underway on Wednesday and after testing the McLaren P1 road car in Bahrain the Danish driver will switch his attention to the McLaren F1 cockpit.
 
He was extremely impressive for the team in the opening test of the preseason period as he topped the time-sheets during his first day in the car and on his second day he finished the day in fourth place.
 
Magnussen, who makes his Grand Prix race debut completed a total of 161 lap's over the course of two day's which is the equivalent of two race distances.
 
Jenson Button will take over Magnussen for the final two day's of the first of two tests that will place in Bahrain. The 2009 F1 champion topped the times on the second day of winter testing in Jerez at the end of January.
 
During the three day's that the MP4-29 was on track in Jerez, Button and Magnussen completed a combined total of 244 lap's.
