McLaren Mercedes Jenson Button has stated that he is not worried about his Formula One future despite the fact that the 2009 world champion does not have a contract in place for 2015. Button joined the Woking based outfit in 2010 having won the world championship with Ross Brawn's Brawn GP team.

Since joining McLaren, Button has taken eight victories, his highest championship finish in the championship since joining the team is 2nd place which he took in 2011 behind Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel.

McLaren CEO Ron Dennis has confirmed that an announcement on his outfit's 2015 driver line up will come at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next month.

Speaking to the Telegraph in the UK, Button stated:

'I have gone past that [being frustrated], I am just enjoying racing. It was nice the car worked last weekend and good that the team were getting everything out of it. It is getting closer to a decision being made because it has to be made at some point before next year but I am not worried or scared whatever direction I go in the future.'

Button also revealed that he is no longer annoyed with the decision taking so long and that in Japan he was still frustrated that nothing has happened yet but now as F1 prepares to head to Austin, Texas for the US Grand Prix he no longer feels that way.

Button also stated that where he is fine with having to wait for a decision on his future he feels sorry for team mate Kevin Magnussen who is coming to the end of his rookie season in Formula One as if he is dropped by McLaren there will be few options open to him  for the future.

Magnussen revealed recently that he feels if he loses his Formula One seat at McLaren he feels he would not deserve a second chance in Formula One.
