The Caterham F1 Team have dismissed suggestions that the future of the outfit is in doubt as a result of Caterham Sports Limited being placed into administration. The two companies are based in Leafield however they are separate to each other with the Formula One team operated by 1 Malaysia Racing Team (IMRT).

Speaking to Sky Sports a spokesperson for the Caterham F1 Team stated:

'the administration does not threaten the racing team.'

The Leafield based outfit also rejected reports that Kamui Kobayashi felt unsafe racing at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi after the team discovered defect in the suspension of his Caterham CT05. They confirmed that checks were carried out on the car in Sochi and at the team's factory in Leafield and wrapped the suspension in carbon fiber as additional reinforcement.

The team kept in radio contact with Kobayashi during the race and confirmed that at no point during the race was the Japanese driver concerned about the safety of the car.

The team also confirmed that Kobayashi's retirement from the Russian Grand Prix had nothing to do with the suspension issue which the team had discovered following Free Practice Three for the Russian Grand Prix.
