FIA safety panel to investigate Bianchi crash

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

The FIA have confirmed that an accident safety panel has been set up to investigate the cause of Jules Bianchi's horrific crash in the closing the stages of the Japanese Grand Prix.

The new panel will be lead by the FIA's safety commission head Peter Wright. Former Formula One team principals Ross Brawn and Stefano Domenicali will be on the board to investigate the accident. They will be joined by former F1 drivers Alexander Wurz and Emerson Fittipaldi.

The accident panel will make recommendations to the FIA president on how safety can be improved at circuits and will also carry out a full review of Jules Bianchi's accident.

The team will present their findings to the World Motorsport Council meeting in Doha on December 3.
