The Italian confirmed yesterday that Fernando Alonso will leave the Italian team at the end of the season also this is yet to be officially confirmed by the Maranello based outfit.

In an interview with UK based car magazine Autocar, Marchionne stated:

'We've got to kick some ass and we've got to do it quickly, We might screw up, but we've got nothing to lose, right? Let's risk something.'

The Italian outfit are not taking a big risk in signing Sebastian Vettel from rivals Infiniti Red Bull Racing as the German is a four time world champion, having won the championship every year from 2010 - 2013.

Marchionne has confirmed that he has ambitious plans for the road car division of Ferrari however has stated that he main objective is to get Ferrari back to the top of Formula One. The Italian team last won the drivers championship with Kimi Raikkonen in 2007 while their last Constructors championship came in 2008.
