Infiniti Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo has confirmed that he will not be the number one driver at the Milton Keynes based outfit next season when Daniil Kvyat joins to replace the Ferrari bound Sebastian Vettel.
When asked about the possibility of becoming team leader at Red Bull in 2015, Ricciardo commented saying:
'I don't think much changes in that role. I've tried to do as much as I can for the team this year in terms of steering them in the right direction, so I have just a bit more experience with them.
That will increase next year and Dani will probably take a little while to form his relationships with them so I think there's a bit of responsibility to at least steer them in the best direction to start off as possible. Dani coming in should be fun. I've enjoyed this year with Seb, I'll enjoy the last few races and then see how we get on with Dani.'
The Australian has done a fantastic job in his first season with the reigning world champions and finds himself in third place in the drivers championship on 199 points.
Ricciardo stated that he was a little surprised that Red Bull decided to promote Daniil Kvyat after just one season with in Formula One with the Scuderia Toro Rosso team. However Infiniti Red Bull Racing took a similar risk in promoting Daniel Ricciardo as Mark Webber's replacement at the team for this season.
The Australian has also confirmed that he does not feel that the team will have a down turn in their fortunes next season and that it is up to himself and Dani to be competitive next season.
