The Marussia F1 Team are furious over 'completely false' media reports that Jules Bianchi was told to speed up through the yellow flag zone where Adrian Sutil had aqua-planned during the rain affected Japanese Grand Prix.
The French driver remains in a critical but stable condition in the Mie general medical centre in Japan after crashing into a recovery vehicle that was on track to remove Sutil's Sauber C33.
It was reported by some media outlets on Tuesday that not only did Bianchi fail to slow down under the double waved yellow flag zone but it was also wrongly reported that Buianchi was in fact told by his Marussia F1 Team to maintain racing speeds in order to stay ahead of the Caterham F1 Team's Marcus Ericsson.
The Banbury based outfit have hit out at these reports issuing the following statement:
'The Marussia F1 Team is shocked and angered by these allegations.
At a time when its driver is critically ill in hospital, and the team has made clear that its highest priority is consideration for Jules and his family, it is distressed to have to respond to deeply upsetting rumours and inaccuracies in respect of the circumstances of Jules’ accident.'
The statement went on to say:
'However, given that these allegations are entirely false, the team has no alternative but to address these.'
The team went on say:
'Jules did slow down under the double waved yellow flags. That is an irrefutable fact, as proven by the telemetry data, which the team has provided to the FIA.'
The team have endured an extremely difficult ten day's since Bianchi's accident and have stated that the primary priority is and will remain supporting Jules and his family at this extremely difficult period for the family.
