Esteban Gutierrez has revealed that he is hopeful of reaming in Formula One next season despite losing his drive with the Sauber F1 Team.
It was announced on Wednesday that Felipe Nasr will drive for the Swiss based outfit next season with the support of Banco Do Brasil. The news came jut days after the team confirmed that former Caterham driver Marcus Ericsson will driver one of their cars next season.
Gutierrez made his Formula One debut in 2013 with the Sauber F1 Team replacing compatriot Sergio Pererz who joined McLaren Mercedes.
Speaking following the news Gutierrez revealed that he has several options to remain in Formula One. He stated:
'Unfortunately, after long talks and negotiations, we were not able to reach an agreement. At the same time we have and are still working on several alternatives with the intention to remain in Formula 1.'
In his first season in Formula One the Mexican scored six points for the Swiss based outfit and finished the season in 16th place in the championship.
Gutierrez went on to say:
'I'd like to thank each and every member of Sauber for all the time we worked together. I wish them the best of success.'
Gutierrez' team mate Adrian Sutil who joined the Swiss based outfit from the Sahara Force India Formula One team over the Winter of 2013 as yet to speak about the situation.
