Head to head Hamilton v Rosberg for the 2014 F1 championship


  


Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg go head to head for the 2014 FIA Formula One world championship at the season finale at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi in two weeks time with just 17 points separating the pair following Rosberg's fifth victory of the season at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes duo have matched McLaren's 26 year record by racking up 15 wins between them this season for the Silver Arrows. 

The Brackley based outfit have been utterly dominant this season taking 15 victories, 30 podiums and 17 pole position from 18 races while Nico Rosberg claimed the 2014 Pole position trophy in Brazil at the weekend.

As the Formula One circus gears up for its final act at the double points season finale in Abu Dhabi in just under two weeks time Lewis Hamilton goes there with a 17 point lead over Nico Rosberg. The 2008 world champion can win the champion if:


  1. Rosberg wins the race and he finishes the race in second
  2. Rosberg finishes second and he finishes 5th
  3. Rosberg finishes third and he finishes 6th
  4. Rosberg finishes fourth and he finishes 8th
  5. Rosberg finishes fifth and he finishes 10th 
  6. Rosberg finishes sixth or lower he is champion
Rosberg can win the championship if

  1. He wins and Hamilton finishes 3rd or lower
  2. He finishes second and Hamilton is 6th or lower
  3. He finishes third and Hamilton is 7th or lower 
  4. He finishes fourth and Hamilton is 9th or lower
  5. He finishes fifth and Hamilton is 10th or lower
  6. He can also win the championship if he finishes the race in fifth or higher and Hamilton fails to score points.
If the pair finish on equal points as a result of the double points being awarded Hamilton would win the championship due to his greater number of wins this season.

  5. 20
  6. 16
  7. 12
  8. 8
  9. 4
  10. 2

The stage is set for an absolutely fantastic final race of the season following a sensational 2014 Formula One season.
