Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen has admitted that he 'hates the current situation' following another extremely disappointing race for the Finn during Sunday's United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas which saw the Iceman finish the race in 13th place one lap down on race winner Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team's Lewis Hamilton.

Following a difficult qualifying session which saw Raikkonen qualify in eighth place he made a good get away and was hopeful that the improvements that had been made the F14-T would benefit him during the race however that would turn out not to be the case.

On the opening lap of the race while challenging Sauber's Adrian Sutil Raikkonen took a heavy hit to the rear of his car from Sahara Force India's Sergio Perez which damaged his Ferrari and effectively ended any chance of the Finn obtaining a strong race result in Austin.

Raikkonen has struggled with the F14-T's front end this season more so compared to team mate Fernando Alonso who has admitted that had struggling with vibrations during the race.

Speaking to reporters following the race, a clearly frustrated Raikkonen said:

'Here was again one of the most difficult weekends, Japan was similar - we fight with understeer the whole weekend and whatever we do we can't seem to get rid of it.'

Raikkonen went on to say that the thing that he and Ferrari find most frustrating is the fact that they are unable to pinpoint where the problems with the car lie and that has hindered his performances this season.

It had been suggested that he would receive a new chassis for the United States Grand Prix but that was not the case and he is unlikely to get one for the next race on Sunday in Brazil.

However with the season finale in Abu Dhabi set for double points the Italian team may opt to give Raikkonen a new chassis so that the Finn can go into the Winter break following a strong end to the 2014 season.

Kimi has endured a nightmare season in which he has scored no podiums and has been beaten on numerous occasions by Fernando Alonso and finds himself heading to Brazil this weekend in 12th place in the championship on 47 points. He will be desperately hope for a strong race next time out.
