Alonso goes back to work

(McLaren Honda)

Fernando Alonso will conduct simulator work for McLaren at the MTC in Woking on Wednesday as he prepares for return to Formula One.

The Spaniard suffered concussion in an accident during the final day of the opening Barcelona winter testing at the Catalunya Circuit de Catalunya. The double world champion was forced to sit out the first Grand Prix of the 2015 Formula One season last weekend in Australia and was replaced by test and reserve driver Kevin Magnussen.

Alonso is scheduled to race in Malaysia next weekend for the first time following his return to the McLaren Honda team over the winter.

The Woking based outfit had one car finish the Australian Grand Prix with Jenson Button ending the race in eleventh place albeit two laps down.
