Alonso told another heavy impact could prove fatal

McLaren-Honda’s Fernando Alonso has reportedly be told by his doctors that if he was to suffer another heavy impact in an accident so soon after his concussion in Spain it could prove to be fatal.

The Spaniard suffered severe concussion following an accident during winter testing last month and it has now been reported that when he woke up in hospital he thought that it was 1995 and that he was competing in go-karts and that his ambition was to one day race in Formula One.

The double world champion who will miss the opening race of the 2015 Formula One season in Melbourne reportedly could not remember that he had made his Formula One debut with Minardi.

McLaren Honda have refused to give updates on Alonso’s current condition but they have confirmed that the Spaniard ‘is making progress’ and they are hopeful he will return for the Malaysian Grand Prix at the end of March.
