Vettel has revealed that he first made contact with the Italian team in 2008 when he was driving for Toro Rosso.

The German stated that he spoke with than Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali and also with a number of technicians with the team as the Prancing Horse was supplying engines to Toro Rosso at the time.

Vettel, who won all of his four championships with Infiniti Red Bull Racing said that in 2008 he mentioned to Domenicali about the possibility of driving for Ferrari in the future but nothing happened. The two parties briefly spoke to each ahead of the 2010 season but once again nothing came from those discussions.

Vettel has also revealed that during the winter between 2012 and 2013 he secretly went to meet than Ferrari President Luca Di Montezemelo at the factory in Maranello but once again these talks led to nothing.

Vettel once again spoke to the team last season, holding talks with both Marco Mattiacci and Luca Di Montezemelo and even took some advice from Sabine Kehm, Michael Schumacher’s manager.
