Silverstone Wing damaged by heavy winds

The roof of Silverstone’s iconic Wing has been damaged as a result of extremely strong winds, officials at the circuit have confirmed.

Silverstone’s Sporting Director Stuart Pringle confirmed that although the roof looks a bit of a mess at the moment, the structural integrity of the roof remains completely intact and that engineers are already working to repair the roof and this should not affect the planned racing event at the circuit this weekend.

The circuit have also confirmed that the damage will have no impact of the World Endurance Championship season opening race which takes place in Silverstone next month.

Officials have also confirmed that this year’s Formula One British Grand Prix as the repairs will take place over the coming days.
