New technology partner for Mercedes

The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team have entered into a new technical partnership with Qualcomm.

The new partnership will see Qualcomm provide the reigning world champions with enhanced on track race speed and to help improve reliability through better communication between the cars and the team.

The Qualcomm logo will feature on the front nose of the W06 as well as Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg’s race overalls along with all team clothing. Speaking about the new deal, Qualcomm President Derek Aberle commented saying:
“Qualcomm is committed to leading the connected car movement and bringing the benefits of mobile technology to automotive and we’re excited to bring our technology leadership to a team within one of the most elite organisations in the automotive industry. 
With Mercedes-Benz leading the motorsports circuit, this collaboration provides a prominent testing ground for new technology advancements. We’re looking forward to helping the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team rise to the next level, and, as a result, refine some of the industry’s most sophisticated auto technologies.”

Head of Mercedes Benz motorsport Toto Wolff stated:
