McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso will take part in his first
Grand Prix event for the team this weekend in Malaysia after the Spaniard was
passed fit to participate In the Malaysian Grand Prix by the FIA medical
delegate on Thursday morning.
The double world champion missed the opening race of the
season in Melbourne Australia two weeks ago after suffering concussion
following his testing accident at the Barcelona Circuit de Catalunya last
month.
As a result Alonso was forced to rest for three weeks
however last week he completed a good test in the McLaren simulator at the HQ,
the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. The Spaniard travelled to Cambridge
University for medical checks last week and was passed fit to travel to
Malaysia.
