Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton has admitted that
when he sat next to Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in the post-race press
conference he wondered what Fernando Alonso was thinking following Vettel’s
race win.
Vettel joined Ferrari over the winter to partner Kimi
Raikkonen with Fernando Alonso joining Jenson Button at McLaren Honda. The new
partnership between McLaren and Honda has endured a difficult start however
despite their double DNF in Malaysia at the weekend Alonso feels that the team
are making progress.
Jenson Button also feels that the team are getting better
and was surprised over the radio by the fact that he was catching the Sahara
Force India Formula One Team and Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers.
Hamilton told the Guardian newspaper that he was lucky
moving from McLaren to Mercedes in 2013 as the Brackley based outfit were in
better shape that this season compared to 2012 but with Fernando he said the
opposite appears to be true and McLaren are still getting to grips with their
new relationship alongside Honda and Ferrari have scored two podium finishes
including a victory.
