Renault accuse Red Bull of telling lies

(Frederic Le Floc'h DPPI for Renault Sport F1)

Renault Managing Director Cyril Abiteboul has accused Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s Adrian Newey of lying.

The Milton Keynes based outfit who up until last season completely dominated Formula One from 2010 – 2013 however last year the team fell behind Mercedes despite winning three Grand Prix last season with Daniel Ricciardo taking victories in Canada, Hungary and Spa.

Abiteboul stated that it not just the Renault power unit that is holding the team back. Abiteboul believes that the partnership needs to work together on both the PU front and the chassis side to come up with a solution to the issues that they have been experiencing.

He went on to say that the company have had the opportunity between Australia and Malaysia to go through the data collected from Australia and have refined the power unit and he expects to see the results of that in Malaysia this weekend.

Abiteboul went on to accuse Adrian Newey of always blaming the power unit throughout his time in Formula One and never pointing out that the way he has designed chassis.

The Team Principal’s Press conference will be very interesting as both Cyril Abiteboul and Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner will attend on Friday.
