Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen has stated that he is encouraged by the progress his team have made. The Finn ended both session’s in the top ten on Friday.

Raikkonen admitted that in the opening session where he finished in eighth place his driving was up to scratch however in the second session he was right up there with the Mercedes duo and Ferrari team mate Sebastian Vettel as he ended the session in fourth place.

Raikkonen was happy overall with his Friday and still has a good feeling about the new package which he had during winter testing. The Iceman revealed that it was a completely trouble free day for him with the car and he feels that the new SF15-T is an improvement on last year’s car.

Raikkonen conceded that Mercedes are out of reach however as always the times from Friday are not representative.
