Caterham F1 Team principal Manfredi Ravetto has confirmed that jobs within the Leafield based outfit 'will be protected' following a visit from bailiffs on Wednesday. Bailiffs seized equipment from the outfit on Wednesday and it was believed that this would auctioned off. However the Sheriffs office has confirmed that the auction may be cancelled as a result of 'fast moving developments'
After arriving at the Suzuka circuit on Friday following a meeting with staff at the factory on Thursday, Caterham F1 Team principal Manfredi Ravetto said that he is 'very proud' of the team who have yet to score a world championship point.
Ravetto stated that when they inherited the team over the Summer it was 'absolutely collapsing' but that has insisted that the debts that the team have are 'far lower than some other F1 teams'.
The new team boss who recently took over from Christijan Albers went on to say:
'The team are fighting for our priorities'. He also stated the staff at the team are 'happy and paid'.
Despite a number of recent redundancies the Caterham F1 Team still retain around 300 employees. It has also recently been reported that the team's base in Leafield is 'haunted' as two previous teams who were involved in Formula One, Arrows and Super Aguri were forced to close. This is of course absolute nonsense.
The team will be racing in Japan on Sunday weather permitting as there is still the looming threat of typhoon Phanfone which is due to hit land on Sunday or Monday. The Caterham F1 Team should be commended for their continued professionalism as they managed to fly out a brand new front wing for the the CT-05 which was fitted on time for this morning's session.
