McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier has revealed that the Woking based outfit are currently producing what has been described as a 'development chassis' dubbed the MP4-29H which the team hope to run at the season ending Abu Dhabi test.

The team have already designed a car to see how the new Honda power unit and gearbox can inter-grated into the MP4-30.

Boullier has confirmed that they have taken a different approach to developments for this years car as they are applicable to next year's MP4-30. The new development 1.6 litre Hon means that the team designers will not be under pressure to get the new car ready as Boullier confirmed that if they do not get to run the development chassis in Abu Dhabi that instead they will run it at the first winter test in Jerez or possibly in Barcelona in February.

As McLaren are building a MP4-29H it means that they will be easily able to transfer the new 1.6 litre V6 Honda power unit into the 2015 car without any problems as the idea behind the MP4-29H is to learn about the connectivity of the new electronics systems and to make sure that it all works without any problems.
