Finbarr O'Connell, one of the administrators from Smith and Williamson the company dealing with the sale of the Caterham F1 Team has confirmed that they have received interest from five drivers who want to race for the team in Abu Dhabi next weekend if the team make it to the final race of the 2014 Formula One season.

Mr O'Connell has confirmed that whoever the team pick to drive next weekend will be in the car for the entire weekend and not just Friday's practice sessions.

The Caterham F1 Team have until Friday to come up with the £2.35 million needed to go racing in Abu Dhabi next weekend.

Alice Powell spoke to Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday to confirm that she has a chance to race in Abu Dhabi with the Caterham F1 Team. The 21 year old's grandfather has pledged £35,000 to help secure a drive for the English racer.

It is understood that her management team are also working hard behind the scenes in order for her to secure the mandatory Super Licence that would enable her to take part in the race weekend.

The Sports Mail is reporting that GP2 Champion Joylon Palmer is also a contender to get a drive at the team.

As it stands with 1 day 10 hours and 30 minutes to go on the crowd funding initiative the Leafield based outfit has raised £1,275,904 which means the team have raised 54% of the money they need to go racing.
