Infiniti Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has slammed suggestions the big teams like his own on should bail out the financially struggling smaller teams.

Following the news that the Caterham and Marussia F1 Team's entered administration it has been suggested that the big five teams Infiniti Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Mercedes and Williams Martini Racing and McLaren forfeit part of their prize money with some of it being distributed among the smaller teams. However, Horner, who team have four constructors championships from 2010 - 2013 told Crash.net:

'We have budget pressures, we have huge budget pressures but I have to operate within our budget, And so again, it is not going to be the right scenario.

The deals are in place until 2020. If the commercial rights holder wants to put in place more money to the smaller teams then that is their choice and their responsibility. Teams are here to compete, not sponsor each other.'

Lotus F1 Team owner and Chairman Gerard Lopez has stated that the smaller teams Lotus, Sauber and Force India are on the verge of reaching an agreement with CVC Capital Partners, the owners of Formula One which would provide them with an extra payment of £100 million which would help the teams to survive.
