British racing driver Alice Powell who had been in the running to drive for the Caterham F1 Team at next weekend's Formula One season finale in Abu Dhabi has now admitted that she will not drive for the Leafield based outfit at the Yas Marina circuit.

The 21 year old took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to confirm the news saying 'It's looking very unlikely due to getting a Super License!!! Great news for @CaterhamF1 though.'

With just a week to go until the season finale it would have been impossible for Powell to obtain a Super License as the the English driver would have had to amass 300KM in a current Formula One car to be eligible for the Super License.

The news from Powell comes at the Leafield based outfit are now at 80 percent of the total that they need to race in Abu Dhabi an the administrators dealing with the team have extended the deadline to raise the £2.35 million until next Sunday's Grand Prix. The original deadline had been set as midnight tonight.

Since the initiative was launched by the Caterham F1 Team two weeks ago they have had £1,902,289 pledged to them. Finbarr O'Connell, one of the administrators, who is acting a team principal has confirmed that the outfit WILL be traveling to Abu Dhabi.
