Finbarr O'Connell, the joint administrator from Smith and Williamson who dealing with the Caterham F1 Team has confirmed to the Reuters News agency that he is '90 per cent confident that we are going.' was Mr O'Connell's response when asked if the Leafield based outfit will be racing in Abu Dhabi next weekend.
Mr O'Connell confirmed that the the cars and parts are being prepared for transportation to season finale at the Yas Marina circuit next weekend despite the fact that the Leafield based outfit are currently at 79% of the money they need to race next weekend. The team have 10 hours 32 minutes left on the crowd funding initiative having had £1,863,550 pledged to the #RefuelCaterhamF1 needing £2.35 million.
Mr O'Connell has also confirmed that in the last few days they have received interest from a group with what have been described as 'F1 connections' who want to invest in the team.
Mr O'Connell the acting team principal at the Caterham F1 Team ha confirmed that Smith and Williamson will re-calibrate the funding project in order to extend it up to the race next weekend which would give the administrators more time to get certain things in place.
