Ferrari's Fernando Alonso has confirmed that he has spoken to no one outside the team about his Formula One future amid recent speculation that the Spaniard could be set to leave the Italian team. Alonso was speaking to the media ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix in Hockenheim where the double world champion won in 2010.
Speaking to ESPNF1 Alonso said:
'I haven't talked with any other team and it's not my priority.' The Spaniard confirmed that his only focus right now is to improve the performance of the F14-T.
Despite the teams current struggles in the championship Alonso is currently fourth in the championship on 87 point's, 14 clear of Williams Martini Racing's Valtteri Bottas.
During last weeks in season test in Silverstone Fernando Alonso was at the team's HQ in Maranello to carry out simulator work for the team and also to make sure that that the team at Silverstone were getting the same read outs from the track that had been predicted from the simulator work.
Alonso also confirmed that he spoke with Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemelo and Ferrari team boss Marco Mattiacci but that this is standard procedure when he visits the factory,
