McLaren's Jenson Button will have a new race engineer from this weekend's German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring after the team confirmed this afternoon that his current race engineer Dave Robson is moving to a different position within the Formula One operation.

Tom Stallard will replace Robson as Button's engineer from this weekend's race. Speaking about the new role a McLaren spokesman said:

'Tom is a very intelligent and able engineer, who has worked in a variety of engineering roles within McLaren, including as Jenson Button's performance engineer. Jenson's previous race engineer was Dave Robson, who is a very experienced and expert engineer, who has achieved many successes working alongside Jenson in recent years, and whose experience and expertise will now be exploited in a broader role within McLaren's Formula 1 operation.'

The change comes as part of the teams ongoing restructuring programme in a bid to move further up the grid and back to where they should be which is challenging for victories and world championship's. This season started off extremely well for the Woking based outfit as they scored a double podium finish but since then they have struggled with their best result since Australia coming two week's ago at their home race in Silverstone where Button finished the race in fourth place.

McLaren are currently in 6th place in the Constructors championship, 16 point's behind Ferrari who are in third place.
