Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen has stated that he is fully fit ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring following his 47G crash last time out in Silverstone two weeks ago. The Finn revealed that his ribs were bit sore following the crash but that he is now fully recovered. Speaking at Thursday's FIA driver press conference in Germany Raikkonen said:
'I crashed, I think you saw it. I had some pain but I'm fine. The most was on my ribs, that's why I didn't test [at Silverstone], but it's all gone away now.'
Following his crash and his difficult start to the 2014 season questions have been raised about Raikkonen's future in the sport and although he is in 12th place in drivers championship and has struggled to match team mate Fernando Alonso, Raikkonen is confident that the team will turn things around later this season.
Raikkonen also confirmed:
'I have a contract and I am not worried about that for the future'. He has an option to extend his stay beyond next season but is not concentrating on that right now he along with the team are focusing on improving the performance of the F14-T.
The Finn also admitted that the situation cannot continue much longer as they are at Ferrari but is confident that they can turn things around.
