Mercedes Lewis Hamilton has stated that he is in no rush to sign a fresh contract with the Silver Arrows following the news earlier this week that he team mate Nico Rosberg has signed a multi-year contract extension with the team.
Hamilton is in the second of a three year deal with the Brackley based outfit and is currently four point's behind Rosberg as the team go to the Hockenheimring for this weekend's German Grand Prix. Hamilton won last time out in Silverstone following Rosberg's first retirement of the season as a result of a gearbox failure.
Speaking to the Press Association about his current contract situation Hamilton said:
'Obviously I'm in a different position to Nico. His contract was due to run out at the end of this year, so it was the right time for him to discuss things, whereas my contract is until the end of 2015, I'm very, very happy in the team and naturally I assume I'll sit down with the bosses and we'll discuss the future.'
The 2008 world champion has taken five Grand Prix victories so far this season and will be hoping to take another victory this weekend. He went on to tell the Press Association:
'But I've been with Mercedes since I was 13 years old, and it's very difficult for me to see myself anywhere else, but you never know what the future may hold.'
