Williams Martini Racing's test and development driver Susie Wolff has described her run in the FW36 during the first free practice session at the Hockenheimring this morning as fantastic.
Wolff completed 22 laps and set the 15th fastest time of the session ending just two tenths of a second behind team mate Felipe Massa. It was the second run that Wolff had during a Free Practice session after the Scottish driver made her race weekend track debut with the Grove based outfit in Silverstone two weeks ago although that run was cut short due to an engine failure.
Today didn't start too well as Wolff suffered a gear selection issue however after a very quick system reset by the team Susie got back out on track and completed her programme for the morning and in doing so met all the targets set by the team.
Her run, which was her last planned for the season has renewed speculation that she will get another outing with the team this season. Speaking to Sky Sports News Rachel Brookes an over the moon Wolff commented:
'It felt really fantastic. It felt really, really fantastic. The team did such a good job of getting me ready for today and it just felt so good to be out there and pushing and to finally do a proper session.'
The team have yet to comment on Susie's run but they are sure to be satisfied with the work that she did this morning. She will now hand the car back to Valtteri Bottas for the second practice which gets underway at 1PM.
