Hamilton not worried by Vettel speculation

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

Lewis Hamilton has stated that he is not worried by speculation linking reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel to the Mercedes AMG F1 Team. Hamilton is in the second year of a three year contract with the Brackley based outfit and has yet to sit down with team management to discuss an extension to his current contract.

When Mercedes re-entered Formula One as a 'works team' in 2010 they fielded an all German line-up with Michael Schumacher coming out of retirement to partner Niico Rosberg at the team up until Schumacher retired from Formula for a second and final time in 2012. The Formula One driver market is set to hot up next season as a number of driver's are out of contract with their respective teams.

Hamilton also stayed that he is not worried as that talk is for the 2016 season onwards and doubts that the Mercedes team would revert back to an all German line-up.

Hamilton also praised his team recently for the way they treat both drivers equally and the 2008 world champion heads to Hungary this weekend aiming to close the 14 point gap in the Championship to team mate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton goes to the Hungaroring having win there in 2007, 2012 and last season (taking his first victor for Mercedes).

Hamilton who has been  part of the Mercedes programme since he was 13 is hopeful to extend his stay at Brackley just as team mate Nico Rosberg did recently by signing a new three year contract with the Silver Arrows.
