German Grand Prix
(Sam Bloxham Lotus F1 Team)

Lotus F1 Team Technical Director Nick Chester has confirmed that the Enstone based outfit are well advanced in the design phase of their new car but has also stated that they will continue to bring developments to the E22 which has has only managed to bring the team eight points so far this season and they have all come courtesy of Romain Grosjean.

Chester has said that the team are aiming to score points in Hungary having had a strong performance there in 2013 which saw Kimi Raikkonen finish on the podium in second place behind Lewis Hamilton while Romain Grosjean finished the race in 6th place. Chester stated:

'We will obviously have a good go at getting points in Hungary [this weekend] and then after the summer break the development of this car will still continue, here will probably be one more sizeable package of new parts and then a series of smaller, simpler upgrades to bring fairly easy performance towards the end of the season.'

Chester went on to say:

'Looking further ahead, we are [also] already well into the design of next year's car.'

Chester revealed that the 2015 car will look some what different to the its sister the E22 with some different feature presumably he is referring to the tusk style nose that the current car has. The team also look set to have a new supplier next season as they are finalizing a supply deal with Mercedes Benz who will take the Enstone based outfit as a customer as long term partner McLaren will be moving to Honda from next season.
