Kimi Raikkonen believes that the 2015 Ferrari car will be more to his liking than this year's F14-T. The Finn has struggled so far this season, his first since he returned to the Italian team after joining the outfit from the Lotus F1 Team where he spent two years, Raikkonen is currently in 12th place in the Driver's championship. The Finn heads to the Hungarian Grand Prix having finished on the podium there on the last five occasions. Speaking ahead of this weekend's race Raikkonen said:
'Hopefully, we’ll get that good feeling and get the car where we want and just have a clean weekend without any issues in any practices and can try things where we want, Even though it’s twisty and people say you can’t overtake here, we’ve seen in the past that it can change a lot in the race after qualifying so we’ll see how it goes.'
Raikkonen, like team mate Alonso is unhappy with how Ferrari's season has panned out so far and has stated that the team are working extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure that the car improves. Speaking about new boss Marco Mattiacci, Raikkonen said that when he arrived at Ferrari his F1 knowledge wasn't the best but now it is getting better as Mattiacci has a strong head on him.
Just as Mattiacci said about Raikkonen in that he is the driver that Ferrari need for next season Raikkonen has said exactly the same thing about Mattiacci. Speaking to the official Ferrari website ahead of this weekend's Grand Prix Raikkonen said:
'I think he’s doing good work, making good decisions, but it takes time to get involved and get people’s trust but I think he’s the guy we need.'
The last time Raikkonen was at the Hungaroring with Ferrari in 2009 where he finished the race on the podium in 2nd place behind race winner Lewis Hamilton.
