(Williams Martini Racing)
Following their third successive podium finish at the German Grand in Hockenheim at the weekend the Williams Martini Racing team are now targeting second place in the Constructors championship after overtaking Ferrari and jumping into third place. The Grove based outfit are currently on 121 point's, 67 behind reigning world champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing. Speaking to the official Formula One website ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix, deputy team principal Claire Williams said:
'There is no easy prey in Formula One, but yes, three points is an achievable amount [to overhaul] isn't it? The target was to take P3 in the Constructors' Championship,Red Bull is only sixty-seven points ahead of us - and they are in P2 - and with the current point system there is no reason why we can't be fighting for P2 this year!'
The Williams Martini Racing team have had a great run of results with Valtteri Bottas in recent Grand Prix while Felipe Massa has been unlucky as the Brazilian has been involved in racing incidents and was lucky to escape uninjured from a terrifying accident going into turn one on the opening lap in Germany. The Brazilian was also caught up in Kimi Raikkonen's huge crash in Silverstone.
The team have continued the precedent of scoring point's in every Grand Prix of the season so far. Williams went on to say:
'There is no reason why we can't. We have always been a team that has developed our cars over the course of the season - and we have got resources in-house.'
Williams sees no reason why her team can't keep up momentum into the second half of the season.
