Axe falls in Caterham restructuring programme

The Caterham F1 Team have axed more then 40 jobs as part of the restructuring programme put in place by their new owners. It was announced on the eve of the British Grand Prix that the team had been sold to a Swiss/Middle Eastern consortium with the new management immediately installed former F1 driver Christijan Albers as their new team boss.

It has now emerged that one of staff members to be released was team manager Graham Watson along with deputy technical director Jody Eggington.

Along with the redundancies the new management team have brought in Simon Shinkins as their new Chief Operating Officer. Ferrari's former head of logistics Moidrag Kotur joins the team as team manager. In confirming the numerous departures from the team the statement said that the redundancies were necessary in order to ensure the future of the team.
